Maruja Mallo, an outstanding visual artist from the Generation of ‘27, represents an appropriate and necessary contribution to the historiography of avant-garde art from the 20th century in Spain. The authors of the catalogue entries and other documentary details in this fundamental volume are the leading specialists in the subject matter. Following a painstaking critical methodology, they have described one hundred and forty-seven paintings and forty sketches, including some unpublished works.
