As the first monograph of the cycle known as “Reinas Negras”, conceived in the early fifties by Martín Chirino (Las Palmas, 1925-Madrid, 2019), this is a small group of sculptures and drawings that, as the artist himself noted, “was the beginning” of his well-known metal sculpture work.  The book was written by Alfonso de la Torre, and directed and published jointly by Fundación Arte y Pensamiento Martín Chirino and Fundación Azcona.
