Greco II is part of a larger sculptural, literary and audio-visual project by the painter, sculptor and printmaker Rafael Canogar (Toledo, 1935), in which Fundación Azcona documented the five-month process of creating the sculptures entitled Greco I and Greco II.

From the blank page to the sketches, the maquette, cutting the steel sheets and welding the pieces together through to the completion of Greco I (82 × 60 × 54 cm, gunmetal) and Greco II —a large-scale sculpture—, the entire creative process is recorded in a not-for-sale book and a short documentary film about the work of the co-founder of the El Paso group and winner of the Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas in 1982.
