THE CITY AS A MUSEUM

As part of its mission to promote and spread knowledge about art and culture in the broadest sense, Fundación Azcona is implementing a programme that donates works of art to universities and institutions. These works —mainly sculptures— by renowned Spanish artists are placed in the city’s streets and squares, converting the cityscape into a living art museum without walls.

A museum with no partitions or glass cases, where there are no ‘do not touch’ signs. A museum for everyone. Because beauty and the collective memory cannot be kept behind closed doors.

The sculptures Greco II, by Rafael Canogar, and Guitarra n.^º 21, by Pablo Serrano, are already part of that open-air museum in the streets of Oviedo.
